Our Roots

Grounded in raw Idaho earth

We stepped off the paved trails of Idaho Falls to build an active basecamp for screen-fatigued individuals. Here, we trade digital noise for genuine connection, primitive skills, and unhurried mountain days.

The Philosophy

Countering the digital noise

Barefoot & Wild was founded in Idaho Falls as a direct response to the constant screen fatigue of modern life. We believe the most potent remedy to connectivity is simple: we walk until the cellular signal drops entirely.

In the backcountry, we replace notifications with the crackle of real pine fires. We exchange endless scrolling for the tactile satisfaction of carving wood, reading weather patterns, and feeling the cold mountain air.

The wilderness does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. We gather to remember how to move at the speed of the seasons.

The Guides

Grounded in authenticity

We are backcountry educators, not outdoor influencers. Our team brings decades of collective wilderness guiding, search-and-rescue, and primitive skills instruction to every single trek and basecamp workshop we host.

We deliberately keep our expedition groups small—never more than eight participants—to ensure we leave no trace on the land and foster real, unhurried conversations around the evening hearth.
